Our Sri Lankan vanilla, also known as Ceylon vanilla, is a Planifolia variety: the same as the Madagascar Vanilla or the Ugandan Vanilla. The unique terroir of Sri Lanka gives this vanilla a cocoa-like aromatic profile, with notes of dried fruits, gingerbread, and a lot of sweetness.
USING SRI LANKAN VANILLA IN COOKING
Valued for its subtlety, it is perfect in creams, mousses or cakes where it brings a refined vanilla note without overpowering other flavors. It can also be used to flavor beverages such as tea, cocktails, and milk-based or plant-based drinks.
On the savory side, a Ceylon vanilla bean complements the flavors of seafood, fish, and winter vegetables perfectly.
PACKAGING AND STORAGE
Our Sri Lankan vanilla is offered in a glass tube of 10 beans or in a 250-gram refill bag. Store your vanilla in a cool, dry place, away from light. Vanilla beans do not expire, but we recommend using them within 24 months to retain all their aromatic intensity.
